In 1889, the French staged a play mocking RasulAllah ﷺ, written by Henri de Bornier.
The French ambassador was duly called upon and, after having been made to wait for a few hours, the Khaleefah Abdul Hamid II came out in full battle dress and laid a sword out in front of the French diplomat and asked him to leave.
France received the message loud and clear and stopped the play immediately.
