Light of Dawn

I wake with the light of the dawn whispering with joy in my heart and with praise on my lips. In stillness and twilight i stand before you bowing, prostating i call Allahu (swt).
My eyes see your beauty in the dawn's golden hues. My ears hear the thunder as it gloriies you. The rhythm of my heart beats the sound of your name. My breaths rise and fall with the tide of your praise. My soul knew and loved you before i was born and without your mercy is lost and fortorn.
Wherever i may wonder down the pathways of life, my cry to you Allah (swt), is "guide me to ligfht" through all fear and helpness, to you do i turn for your breath of healing and peacedo i yearn. For all that i have , my Allah (swt) all that i am is from you, is for you and to you will return. Inshallah

Haji or Namazi?

Here's a story for you to tell, for when you go meet all the 'Haji's' that are returning from their trip: )

Today we find that people take great pride in calling themselves 'Haji' and make a show of this. They write the title of 'Haji' in front of their name with great pride. Yes, there is no harm in calling yourself a Haji; however, if this is not making a show of your worship, then what is it? An example of this can be gleaned from the following story.

A train was slowly making its journey when two people found themselves opposite each other. Attempting to start a conversation, one of them asked the other his name. The person replied that his name was Haji Shafeeq. The second person said that his name was Namazi Rafeeq. The first person replied, “This is very strange, your name being 'Namazi' Rafeeq!” This same namazi Rafeeq then asked, “Tell me, how many times have you performed the Hajj?” The Haji then proudly answered that he had just completed his Hajj only last year. Namazi Rafeeq then said, “ You have only performed Hajj once, and you openly claim to be a Haji and make a show of this and yet, I have performed my five times namaz daily without fail, why should I not call myself Namazi Rafeeq?”
