Whosoever has Allah in his heart, His helper in both worlds is Allah, And whoever has other than Allah in his heart, His opponent in both worlds is Allah."

My Faiths Goal

May Allah Ta’ala grant us His Love and the Love of Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) , such that it becomes easy to give up all sins and submit to His Obedience. Light of Dawn

I wake with the light of the dawn whispering with joy in my heart and with praise on my lips. In stillness and twilight i stand before you bowing, prostating i call Allahu (swt).
My eyes see your beauty in the dawn's golden hues. My ears hear the thunder as it gloriies you. The rhythm of my heart beats the sound of your name. My breaths rise and fall with the tide of your praise. My soul knew and loved you before i was born and without your mercy is lost and fortorn.
Wherever i may wonder down the pathways of life, my cry to you Allah (swt), is "guide me to ligfht" through all fear and helpness, to you do i turn for your breath of healing and peacedo i yearn. For all that i have , my Allah (swt) all that i am is from you, is for you and to you will return. Inshallah

Preparing for the Final Journey

A talk given by sisters (details withheld)- Sun 10th Aug 2008

“Every soul shall taste death, and you shall only be paid fully your reward on the resurrection day; then whoever is removed far away from the fire and is made to enter the garden he indeed has attained the object; and the life of this world is nothing but a provision of vanities.” Surah Al-Imran Verse 185

What to do when death occurs:
- call doctor to confirm death
- notify the imam to prepare for Salat-ul-Janazah
- call Funeral Directors and make sure there is a shroud prepared for the deceased

What to do in concerns of washing the deceased
- remove clothing (cut carefully)/jewellery from the deceased
- ensure privacy and modesty for the deceased is kept at all times
- Ghusal
- intention (niyyah)
- stages of washing

Perform Wudu on the deceased. Perform Ghusal on the deceased. On the last Ghusal- add camphor. Remember! No idle talking whilst washing the dead!
Note: women who are washing the deceased should not be in a menstrual or janab state (must be in wudu)
Note: the women/men who perform ghusal must cleanse and shower themselves before shrouding the deceased. (i.e. those who wash the body, either should not shroud the dead or should do complete ghusl before shrouding as they are considered impure until they do ghusl)

*Every Muslim is advised to have a shroud in preparation for death, from their own allowance*
Females have 5 pieces within their shroud. In every piece the right side of the cloth should go over the left side. Shroud includes:
- 1- 6 ties
- 2- 2 ‘envelopes’
- 3- 1 shirt/kameez
- 4- 1 waist wrapper
- 5- 2 loin cloths
- 6- 1 scarf

3 things which benefit the deceased:
Abu Hurayrah rahimahullaah reported that Allaah's Messenger sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam said: "When a human being dies, all of his deeds are terminated except for three types: an ongoing sadaqah, a knowledge (of Islaam) from which others benefit, and a righteous child who makes du'aa for him." (Muslim)

Mourning the Dead
Expressing grief by wailing (mourning in a loud voice), shrieking, beating the chest and cheeks, tearing hair or clothes, breaking things or scratching faces or saying phrases which makes one lose their faith is PROHIBITED in Islam.

The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said: “The deceased suffers when someone wails loudly.” (Bukhari & Muslim)
