“It is narrated that the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alayhi wasallam would remember Allah ta’ala at all times.
Given that the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alayhi wasallam was human one may question as to how this constant remembrance was possible when he sallallaahu ‘alayhi wasallam also had other needs e.g. eating which needed to be fulfilled. In order answer this one needs to understand that there are two stages of Zikr (remembrance).
The first stage consists of Zikr with the tongue and the second stage is the Zikr of the heart and mind.
One can understand this concept further by pondering upon the two meanings of Zikr in the Arabic language.
The first meaning is to make mention of something/ someone and the second meaning is to remember.
Thus the first meaning encompasses the usage of the tongue, and the second meaning encompasses the usage of the heart and mind.
An everyday example of this second type of remembrance is someone says that I was remembering you all day.
This does not mean that this person kept on saying your name repeatedly. What this sentence entails is that this person was constantly thinking of you.
Thus when it is said that the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alayhi wasallam would remember Allah at all times this means that he sallallaahu ‘alayhi wasallam would be constantly thinking of Allah ta’ala.”

We should learn from this and implement it in our daily lives. less of talking and more of practising.....

Light of Dawn
I wake with the light of the dawn whispering with joy in my heart and with praise on my lips. In stillness and twilight i stand before you bowing, prostating i call Allahu (swt).
My eyes see your beauty in the dawn's golden hues. My ears hear the thunder as it gloriies you. The rhythm of my heart beats the sound of your name. My breaths rise and fall with the tide of your praise. My soul knew and loved you before i was born and without your mercy is lost and fortorn.
Wherever i may wonder down the pathways of life, my cry to you Allah (swt), is "guide me to ligfht" through all fear and helpness, to you do i turn for your breath of healing and peacedo i yearn. For all that i have , my Allah (swt) all that i am is from you, is for you and to you will return. Inshallah
